Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues (2011) - This whole album is so important to me, but I ran out of space on the best albums of 2010’s blog so… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s hard to imagine a song/album better capturing the essence of Seattle in that moment.

Tame Impala - Elephant (2012) - The song we got right when we needed it. That stand alone “yeah” is perfecto.

Billie Eilish - Bad Guy (2019) - Duh.

LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean (2010) - Manual dance music played by musicians perfectly captures the imperfection on this song.

Young the Giant - My Body (2011) - I’ll always pull for these dudes because we’ve worked together so often and they’ve 100% of the time been as cool as this song.

Childish Gambino - This is America (2018) - You really need the video to complete this, but the subject matter is important and addressed in a stunning fashion.

Metric - Breathing Underwater (2012) - "Is this my life? Am I breathing underwater? ...what can I say, the chorus hooked me. Also, the guitar break downs are my absolute favorite. You should see this song performed live at least once in your life.

Foo Fighters - Walk (2011) - This song is all about starting over and overcoming life's obstacles, one of the Foo's best! This video is pretty great, too.

Florence + The Machine - What The Water Gave Me (2011) - Look, I love just about every song from Florence, especially the darker songs. This song is inspired by Virginia Woolf and is named after a painting by Frida Kahlo and it's one of the best songs off Florence's sophomore album.

Young the Giant - Superposition (2018) - I've been a huge fan of this band since I first heard "My Body" and they never disappoint with the tunes. Their latest album has many gems on it, but this is my favorite. I just love the meaning of this song. <3

M83 - Reunion (2011) - This is my go-to song to put on when I have a long drive and want to tune out the world and just cruise. I'll honestly listen to this on repeat for a half hour before changing it.

Odesza - La Ciudad (2017) - Odesza'a entire A Moment Apart album is crazy good, but this song is my favorite from the duo. You can't not dance when that beat hits!

Lorde - Royals (2013) - This one stood out from the moment I heard it. I think what was so unique about it is the amount of space in the production which gave room for the vocals and lyrics to be prominent. It helped set up the sound for the second half of the decade.

Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? (2013) - I love how slinky this song is and the vocal phrasing is really clever.

Actors - Slaves (2018) - I love this Vancouver band’s latest album It Will Come To You. I probably should have included it in my favorite albums of the decade. This song always gets me going.

The Lagoons - California (2016)

Jack Johnson - Ones And Zeros (2013)

Chromeo - Fall Back 2u (2014)

Ra Ra Riot - Bad Times (2016)

LCD Soundsystem - Home (2010)

Damien Jurado - Working Titles (2012)

Courtney Barnett - Elevator Operator (2015)
