I hiked Discovery Park for the first time and it ruled!

My little brother is responsible for getting me out on the trails years ago and I love him for it.

Hiking is not only a great way to exercise, but for me, it's been my escape. A way to get outside and explore different places, breathe in the fresh air and challenge myself.

I've hiked a bunch in the Northeast and in Georgia and I am looking forward to getting more trails under my belt here in Washington. My dog Nix is the best hiking buddy and she had fun exploring Discovery Park last weekend!

Climbing tires her out :)

We were determined to find the lighthouse.

I really love how you can be in the woods and on the water in the same hike. This place rules!

I was excited Nix wanted to dip her paws in! (Swimming isn't her favorite.. yet!)

We walked around for about 5 miles, (according to my smartphone) and ended the day with a Li'l Woody's burger and a hang on the pier. A Sunday well spent!
