New Music Discovery: Songs You Should Be Listening To

107.7 The End New Music Discovery

At least once a week Manley and I have a mini music meeting in our office. We blast the new, new and we're either jamming out or yelling "Next!" Hey, being a music nerd can be brutal, but someone has to do it. We rounded up some jams that we think you should be listening to right now, check them out!

Manley says:

Sharon Van Etten - Seventeen. This may be the best song of the year. Sure the year is only 19 days old but whatever. Seriously, this is a really great tune.

Hippo Campus - Bambi - Certified breezy!!!

KhruangbinWhite Gloves - I think this song is 3 years old but whatever I just discovered it. What’s weird too, is the day I playlisted it I went out for some food and the restaurant I was at started playing it. TRIPPY, you guys.

Alyssa says:

SYML - Clean Eyes - Stemming from Issaquah, Brian Fennell gives us the feels with his music combining piano, minimalist synth and emotive lyrics. I know he more recently released the acoustic version of this song, but I'm really digging the unexpected upbeat original:

Sharon Van Etten - Seventeen - If you haven't dug into any one of Sharon's four studio albums, maybe you recognize her face from the latest season of Twin Peaks. Sharon is a singer-songwriter and actress from New Jersey getting ready to drop a new album on us Friday, and if I were you, I'd jump on the SVE train. This song is the first release from said album and it's a love letter to New York City, and her younger self:

Still Woozy - Lucy (ft. Odie) - Sven Gamsky is a one man band who is working on bringing electronic and acoustic elements together for good. He records, mixes and produces all his material, which has yet to be packaged into one full album for us. This song is a GROOVE and you should experience it at least once!
