I could listen to Dave's stories all day!

We say it all the time - Dave Grohl is the coolest guy in rock. Not only is he !&*%@! amazing to his fans, but he's also not above sitting down and sentimentally chatting about where he came from. If you've watched any of his interviews, you can see how real and genuine he is. Dave still gets pumped about seeing a band or artist that he loves. I mean, have you watched Sonic Highways?? After all, he's seen and done and the people he has worked with, it is not lost on him when he gets to play with a legend like Paul McCartney.

He recently sat down with the fine people over at Visit Seattle to talk about how he landed in our soulful city. The eight-minute long video is part of a series called Dear Seattle and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this month.

He talks about the first day he was in Seattle; he stood in the crowd during Nirvana's show at Motor Sports Intl. Garage, went out and partied with Kurt and the guys after, ate grilled octopus for the first time and soaked in the city that would later become the foundation for the greatest rock band in the world. Do not fight me on this. :)

I think it's awesome that he takes the time to drive around and reflect whenever he's in town. “When I go back to Seattle I always rent a car and drive around to these places I spent time and I find myself driving slower when I get to the places that broke my heart, because I want that to stay with me”

Dave, if you're reading this, you never need an invitation. We love you, come back to Seattle any time.

*Dave describes the type of salad he used to eat when on the road (minute 1:15) Some would call it the poor man's meal. I call it: The Jon Manley lunch.
