The 6 Seattle concerts to see in September

Still got money leftover after Bumbershoot? I have a few ideas how to spend it. MORE MUSIC.

September has a good variety of music from local to Blink-182. It's a busy month for both live music and new releases, so let's break down the six shows you should try and catch this month:

1. Joseph (Sept. 8 @ Neumos) $

Start a month of great live music off on Sept. 8 with Joseph. Get about one minute into their song "Planets" and you'll know why. This Portland band is three sisters who just released a new album and their tunes are a staple on Locals Only. Make sure to catch them when they're in town.

2. Blink-182 (Sept. 17 @ Key Arena) $$$$$

This one is a no-brainer. Blink-182 at Key Arena might be the biggest show this September, and possibly this entire Summer. After talking to Travis Barker a few months ago, I have no doubt they put a tone of work into the live show, which if you have seen Blink live before, you know it's about to get real.

(Note: If you can't see Blink-182, head over to the Neptune for Bloc Party!)

3. Local Natives (Sept. 20 @ Moore Theatre) $$$

Local Natives are playing the Moore 11 days after dropping their new album Sunlit Youth (Sept. 9), and from what we have heard so far (listen), I have a feeling it's going to be a new favorite (at least for me).

4. Saint Motel (Sept. 21 @ Neptune Theatre) $$

If Saint Motel's live set is half as fun as their music videos, this might be the most dancey show this summer.

5. Foals (Sept. 23 @ Paramount Theatre) $$$

Look at that tweet and tell me that doesn't look like a blast? Put that inside the Paramount and I bet your face literally melts. I mean literally LITERALLY. Your face will liquify and it will probably be really scary, but hey, that was a fun show wasn't it?

6. Tangerine w/ Fauna Shade (Sept. 23 @ Chop Suey) $

We had a blast with Tangerine at Summer Camp and lucky for us, they are playing Chop Suey on Sept. 23 with another local favorite, Fauna Shade!
