Arcade Fire have been mostly silent for the last three years since releasing Reflektor, but on Friday we got a taste of the new era of the band with their new song "I Give You Power," featuring R&B legend Mavis Staples.

The lyrics of the chorus seem oddly fitting for the shift in Amerian democracy that took place the same day as the release. Taking it a step further, all proceeds from purchases of the new song will go to ACLU.

Listen to "I Give You Power" below:

Gorillaz, JR JR, Death Cab For Cutie among artists releasing politically-inspired music relating to Donald Trump

I give you power, over me
I give you power, but now I gotta be free
I give you power, but now I say
I give you power, I can take it away
I can take it away
Woo!

Arcade Fire are said to be done recording their newest album, rumored to be released spring 2017,
