Here's your first fly through of Seattle's newest tunnel

October 20, 2017

It's still going to be awhile before the new tunnel that will replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct is ready to drive, but WSDOT gave us a sneak peek with a drone fly-through of the tunnel from the Space Needle to the stadiums.

The video shows both the upper and lower roadways after the tunnel digging machine Bertha finally punched through her final destination in April.

The tunnel isn't planned to open until 2019 and unlike the viaduct, it will be tolled, but hey, great views of the waterfront for all the downtown yuppies!
