If you are reading this from Seattle or anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest, Hurricane Matthew and the destruction it is leaving, and could still potentially leave, probably seems far away and not scary.

Hurricane Matthew is currently Category 4 (sustained winds up to 130-156 mph), and could become a Category 5 (sustained winds 157 mph or higher) storm by the time it hits the coasts of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, where residents are evacuating in droves.

It will likely be the biggest storm to hit the coast since Hurricane Andrew, which killed 65 people in 1992. You can track the storm's progress here.

DONATE: Give to Hurricane Matthew relief partners

As the Southeast braces to weather the biggest storm it has seen in over two decades, you can help by donating to any of these causes that will be and currently are helping with Hurricane Matthew relief.
