New Music Roundup // August 12

Green Day, Young The Giant, Manatee Commune, Saint Motel

August 12, 2016

Did you miss new music that dropped this week? Now you never will. Each Friday, The End rounds up all the new music from the last week we think you should be listening to. Sit down, pop on your headphones and let us know what you think of the newest music to land inside our ears. #NewMusicDiscovery

Green Day - "Bang Bang"

It's the new music you knew you wanted, but you were maybe a bit weary about when they announced it, but Green Day did not disappoint with their newest single "Bang Bang." After their three-album experiment Uno!, Dos!, Tre!, I was with many others holding a bit of skepticism and for the first 20 seconds, I thought I was going to be proved right, but the song kicks ass. Are you happy with the new Green Day?

Young The GiantHome Of The Strange

After three new singles from Young The Giant's third full-length, Home Of The Strange is finally out (and just in tie for Summer Camp). The Summer Camp 2016 headliners played around with some different sounds on the new record, but all of it is distinctly Young The Giant. You can stream the full album below. Chill out with "Titus Is Born" or clear some space to dance to "Silvertongue," this record will take you through a few different sounds, all of it pretty good after one listen.

Saint Motel - "Move"

I hope you are wearing your dancing shoes. Saint Motel just released "Move," their first single off their upcoming album Saintmotelivision (October 21) and the song alone is enough to make you dance, but watch the 360° visualized video (click and drag the screen around to see the videos within the video). We'll wait to see if the whole "80s disco/dance experience" is a good window into the next project from the band.

Manatee Commune - "The Garden Song (ft. Moorea Masa)"

The August Locals Only Artist Of The Month is out with his second single off his upcoming self-titled LP. Manatee Commune just killed a set at Capitol Hill Block Party, and has released "The Garden Song," the follow-up to his first single which you'll hear on The End all month, "What We've Got (ft. Flint Eastwood)."
