Catch up with all the best new music from the last week

August 26, 2016

Did you miss new music that dropped this week? Now you never will. Each Friday, The End rounds up all the new music from the last week we think you should be listening to. Sit down, pop on your headphones and let us know what you think of the newest music to land inside our ears. #NewMusicDiscovery

Glass Animals - How To Be A Human Being

I have to say that I have been counting down the days until the new Glass Animals was released in full and today is the day. Finally. How To Be A Human Being, Glass Animals' second full-lenth record, had me hooked with not only the sound of the first two singles, "Life Itself" and "Youth," but the story-telling done in the music videos that accompanied the songs. I'm hoping we see the story go even further now the full album is out!

Florence and the Machine - "Wish That You Were Here"

There's a new Florence and the Machine song out. Can someone check on Alyssa? "Wish That You Were Here" is the latest from the band and is to be featured on the new film from Tim Burton called Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, based on the book by the same name.

Emire of the Sun - "High And Low"

You might still be humming Empire of the Sun's "Walking On A Dream," but the Aussie duo just released a new tune that'll give their 2008 song a run for it's money. "High And Low" is one of two songs released off their upcoming album Two Vines, due out Oct. 28 via Astralwerks.

The Head And The Heart - "Rhythm & Blues"

Our local friends from The Head And The Heart released another track from their new album Signs Of Light into the wild on Friday. "Rhythm & Blues" is the fourth track off the album that is due out Sept. 9.

Joseph - I'm Alone, No You're Not

Pure. Locals Only. Magic. Steven Graham has been hyped on this band for a long time and for good reason. Yeah, the sisters that make up Joseph are from Portland, but Northwest love being what it is, they are locals to us. Their new album, I'm Alone, No You're Not, dropped Friday and we want to know what you think! I would bet a few tracks make the Locals Only playlist this Sunday.

Grouplove - "Traumatized"

Grouplove's newest single "Traumatized" couldn't be more different than the first song we heard off their new album Big Mess, "Welcome To Your Life," the airy and fun track that sings "I love you" over and over. "Traumatized" goes a little (OK a lot) more punk that gives me a super Pixies vibe, but maybe that's just me? I love it.
