Whatever best "best Seattle music of 2017" list you might be working on, stop. Put your pencils down, erase everything, write "Lo Tom," and you're done.

David Bazan and his Pedro the Lion compatriot TW Walsh, along with members of Starflyer 59, combined to create the new indie rock outfit Lo Tom and their self-titled debut album transcends the sum of its parts.

Nobody is hustling harder than David Bazan right now. His solo effort, Carewas released in March to critical acclaim (we can't stop talking about it on Locals Only), but the quantity of his work apparently has no effect on the quality. That much is as true now as it was in 2016 when Bazan released Blanco, and an uncharacteristic holiday album Dark Sacred Night.

On top of the new release from Lo Tom, Bazan is embarking on a three-month tour across North America beginning in September. As well as touring solo, Bazan and Lo Tom are playing a limited run of shows in August. Tour dates for both Bazan and Lo Tom are below.
