Twenty One Pilots play 'Heathens' on SNL

October 11, 2016

After Donald Trump's comments about women came to the light of day on Friday of last week, you can pretty much assume that the writers at Saturday Night Live tossed everything in the trash and started from scratch.

What resulted from the last-minute rewrite was comedy gold, and with host Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway show Hamilton, and musical guests Twenty One Pilots, the night was near perfection.

Watch Twenty One Pilots' performance of "Heathens" from Saturday Night Live:

I don't know what it is, but it always feels like SNL's audio mix makes bands' energy sound flat. I thought Twenty One Pilots did a decent job of keeping up the energy, but couldn't help but think one of their less intense songs would have been conveyed better on that famous stage.
