At President Barack Obama's farewell speech on Tuesday night, Eddie Vedder played an emotional performance for the departing president.

Vedder started the night with his song "Rise," from the Into The Wild Soundtrack, then played Patti Smith's "People Have the Power" and Neil Young's "Rocking In The Free World" with the Chicago Childrens Choir at McCormick Place in Chicago, where both the president and Vedder have roots.
