WATCH: Kaleo music video inside dormant volcano

Icelandic band plays live in a stunning setting

May 24, 2016

If you don't think Iceland is one of the most interesting places on Earth, you should probably spend more time googling it.

Half an hour outside Iceland's capital Reykjavík, sits a dormant volcano called Thrihnukagigur (don't ask me how to pronounce it). Something that is especially rad about Thrihnukagigur is that it is one of the only magma chambers in the world open to tour to the general public.

In August of 2015, Icelandic band Kaleo, which gets its name from another volcanic island (Hawaii), descended six minutes and 700 feet down into Thrihnukagigur to capture a music video for their single "Way Down We Go" with one of the more unique backdrops you could possibly find.

I think these guys might have stumbled on to the coolest live venue for music ever made. Wouldn't you like to catch a show there?
