Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic will appear on the final season of Portlandia

September 7, 2017

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are wrapping up shooting for their eighth and final season of Portlandia and they are pulling out all the stops getting stars from the Northwest and music to make cameo appearances.

One of my favorite days ever. Henry, Spyke, Brendan, and Krist. Ironic bumper stickers were popular back then. Directed by @carrie_rachel Photos by @lancebangs #portlandia @henryandheidi

Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic will be back on the bass in a new short with Fred Armisen rocking a nasty goatee in an Instagram post shared by Armisen. Both Portlandia founders have been in bands, most notably Brownstein playing guitar and singing in the infamous Olympia-based rock band Sleater-Kinney.

Born in Compton, California, Novoselic moved to Aberdeen with his family when he was 14. He created Nirvana with Kurt Cobain in 1987. Novoselic is now in a new Seattle-based band called Giants in the Trees. They have one song out, "Sasquatch," that you can listen to below.

Will you be watching the final season of Portlandia with Novoselic?
