How to Sounders Good

by Gregr

So there's not much Sounders FC stuff to yap about this week as the SSFC have been off for the last 10 days. The next we'll see of the team takes us to super fun Starfire Stadium for a Cascadian battle of Seattle Sounders FC vs Kitsap Pew-pew-pew-mas in the US Open Cup - a tournament Seattle has won four times since moving up to MLS. Remember last time when Sigi had to leave and Dempsey tore up that tiny adorable little referee notebook? That match against the awful Timbers someone combined the worst and best aspects of a match into one super weird event all called by my pal, and Sounders broadcasting legend (also non-Timbers supporter), Ross Fletcher:

In the meantime, CenturyLink field is wrapped in the branding of Copa America. It's a special edition of this cup competition that usually doesn't include North American teams. This off-year Centenario (100th year) celebration is super scandalous and features up to $110 million dollars in bribe money to make it happen in venues across the USA - again, usually we're not invited. This year we're one of eight American cities going soccer crazy. Ross and I dive into where we're at with Copa in the audio below.

To take this super soccer summer to the next level, today (Friday, 6/10) is the kick off to Euro 2016 - the equivalent national team battle for the European region of FIFA. England, Iceland, Germany and more take over France to prove who's the best in Europe! There are SO MANY soccer matches between now and the Olympics where there will be... even more soccer!!!!!
