It Looks Like The Smashing Pumpkins are Reuniting

Sort of...

They've been sorta teasing a reunion of the original lineup for a minute now, but a new interview with D'arcy Wretzky from the Smashing Pumpkins seems to confirm it's happening... without her!

Last week, OG members Billy/William Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin were photographed hanging out in a studio together which only fans the flames of rumors.

@smashingpumpkins: Not sure what cross-eyed spy took this photo, but we had a visitor to the studio the other day. So many memories when you put the three of us together. @jamesihaofficial @chamberdrums #WPC

But it was D'arcy's revelation to BlastEcho that makes this thing look legit:

“My apologies to all of the Smashing Pumpkins fans out there who are excited about this oncoming reunion tour of the original members of the band,” she said. “I know this is a huge disappointment for me, as well, but it’s not going to happen [with me>. I only just found about yesterday that the band has decided to go with a different bass player.”

Wretzky and Corgan had rekindled a relationship last year, something they hadn't had in all of the 2000's, so it's extra weird on her word alone that she's not being invited. Waiting now to see William's response. I think all I'm hoping for here is to hear some songs from Gish played with Iha's hair in his face while Jimmy pounds the drums. Hopefully, we'll have more solid plans from the Pumpkins by summer time!
