Planning a neighborhood festival must be so interesting...

Capitol Hill Block Party 2019 is here, and as usual, the lineup is packed full of new music discovery and local/regional music.

RL Grime

plus: Amine, Big Wild, Jungle, Snakehips, Mitski, Cuco, jpegMafia, Chelsea Cutler, Yves Tumor and like a zillion more. Full lineup here.

Sure, it's a blast to go and drink some drinks and take in a long day of music on many stages and inside venues, but the whole notion of putting together a festival intrigues me. Check out this chat with Jason, Eli, and Evan from CHBP. We get into what they love about it, booking and planning a show, and ultimately turning a neighborhood into a weekend-long hotspot for culture.

I'm fascinated by how the city is coming after festivals of all types and the challenges something like Capitol Hill Block Party will face in the future. Jason was totally willing to address that and how much more community-oriented they're leaning over the years.
