I Like Music, You Like Music: Essential LCD Soundsystem

Earlier this week The Line Up for the Coachella Music Festival was revealed and the world was buzzing over the reformation of headliners Guns n Roses.  And while I'm as curious to see how on Earth a bunch of washed up 80's metal fans are going to mesh in with the herds of hipsters that flock to the desert each year as I am to see Axl and Slash on stage together again, Im even MORE excited for the other reunion on the bill.  LCD Soundsystem!  To me, this was the best band ever  for a good chunk of the 2000s and their Madison Square Garden final show is the stuff of legend.  Seriously go watch SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS right now! Or you can just scroll down and check out a few essentil LCD Soundsystem tracks.

Movement - When your misinformed friend says they never heard of LCD Soundsystem because they "don't listen to electronic music" just play this for them while you silently judge them for being soooooooo naive.

Drunk Girls - Humor and snark play a big part in LCD Soundsystem music. Here is proof.

Someone Great - Every good list of songs needs a break up jam on it right?

Yr City's a Sucker - "Your city's a sucker, my city's a creep."  Those are pretty much all of the lyrics to this one, and thats ok.

Daft Punk Is Playing At My House - This comes off as kind of a goof song, but it was probably the closest LCD got to making a "radio hit."  Listen to the lyrics though, pretty perfect summary of throwing the greatest h.s. party EVER.

Losing my Edge-  Getting old sucks.  Realizing your are getting old sucks even more.

Dance Yourself Clean - MUPPETS!

All My Friends - James Murphy has this amazing knack for nailing exactly what it feels like to go from being a college kid to an adult and from an adult to old. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Gives me the feels.

I Can Change - Love is an open book to a verse of your bad poetry, And this is coming from me.
