I like to eat. A lot. Food is bae. So I figured I would post little reviews of the places I go, to give you a little insight and maybe some ideas on where you might want to nom with your friends or special someones. Plus it gives me an excuse to pig out on Seattle's best eats and not feel bad about it, because work! Before we start though, I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I am NOT a professional food nerd, nor do I want to be. I dont know the intricacies of French cooking. Heck, I dont even know how to spell "intricacies." It also means that if you ask me what the best burger is, I'll probably say Lil Woody's before I suggest any kind of "gourmet" burger, unless that gourmet burger has an egg on it. Then gourmet burger wins (any burger with an egg on it wins really.) Also, my idea of a fancy pizza is anything with more than 2 toppings. Basically what I'm getting at is consider these restaurant reviews for the comman man/woman. Got it? Good, let's roll!!!

Seattle lost an icon yesterday.  Dick Spady, the co-founder of the legendary Dick's Drive-In passed away at the age of 92.  Its a burger as Seattle as grunge, and the first "you gotta go here" stop when I moved to the Emerald City.  The food is great, and the way they take care of their employees (good pay AND health insurance) is even better.  In honor of Mr Spady, I decided to swing by the Cap Hill location and grab some grub....

THE EATS

French Fries- Salty and soggy.  Just the way I like em!  I realize that's not everyone's cup of tea, but for me, after a few beers they really hit the spot. Dunk 'em in some tartar sauce and you are good to go!

CHEESEBURGER- Not much to this, but that's kind of what makes it great. FRESH meat, plenty of cheese (essential), ketchup, bun. Cooked fresh. Plus it only costs $1.75 so what the heck else are you expecting on it? Lettuce?? YOU MONSTER!  Speaking of lettuce....

DICK'S DELUXE- The next level burger and Dick's signagture item.  2 patties, cheese, lettuce and tartar sauce. Yeah, you guys, tartar sauce.  Its not just for fish and chips anymore!  I was skeptical of this as the condiment of choice at first, but trust me, its LEGIT.

**NOT PICTURED - Strawberry shake**  So here's the deal, while I was getting everything sorted to photograph, I dropped my dang shake!  What a dingus!!!  Like everything here, they use 100% real ice cream and the shakes are hand spun.  I dig em, but I wish they had malts as well.

Look, the burgers are small, its menu is small and non customizable, and depending on how you like your fries they're either great or terrible. Dick's Drive-In isn't even the best burger in the city. But that's not important, because nothing tastes more Seattle than a Deluxe and fry (especially at 1am after a few Manny's amirite?)!  And when it comes to comfort food, especially burgers, isn't that what we really want?  We want to feel like we are home, and there isn't a bite of food in this city that does that better than Dick's Drive-In (apologies to Ivar's).

On a scale of 1-5 Posses on Broadway, Dick's Drive-In gets 5 Posses on Broadway!

FINAL VERDICT- The day you start mentioning a Dick's Deluxe in the same conversation as a double double from In-N-Out you can officially say you are from Seattle.
