Red Hot Chili Peppers @ Key Arena 11.15.12

November 16, 2012
Wow!  The Red Hot Chili Peppers put on an amazing show at Key Arena Thursday night.  After a funkified performance by New Orleans Jazz  band Rebirth Brass Band the Chili Peppers took the stage for their last stop in the US on their tour and absolutely slayed it.  Flea was hopping around from start to finish with his fingers moving faster than the eye could see.  Nobody plays the bass like him.  Never have, never will.  Chad Smith beat the hell out of his drum s including an impromptu solo after the first song while Flea was having some technical issues.  Drum sticks were flying into the crowd throughout the night to the delight of a handful of fans.  Josh Klinghoffer was keeping up with Flea note for note, dropping to the stage, jumping as high as everyone and seriously rocked the guitar.  Then there is Anthony Kiedis.  Seriously…who would believe this guy turned 50 a couple weeks ago?  He sounded better than ever.  If you weren’t there, you missed out.  That was a show to remember!

Rebirth Brass Band from New Orleans opened.  Flea was on the side of the stage dancing the entire time they were playing.

Winning 107.7 The End listeners with by far the most comfortable seats in Key Arena.

I wonder if Flea and Anthony have other pants with the opposite leg cut and whether or not they ever wear pants with the same leg missing.  I don't know about you but I'm thinking about cutting all of my pants this way!

The screens above and behind them were as cool as I've ever seen.  Throughout the night the screens above them would separate to create new designs and changed the look of the entire stage.

Hopping Flea

I love the crazed look in the eyes of Anthony Kiedis in this photo.
