Chong The Nomad premiers music video for "Two Colors"

September 27, 2019

It’s always exciting when a local artist has something fantastic to celebrate and we get to help share the news. With Chong The Nomad there has been no shortage of that excitement in 2019.

Earlier this year Alda Agustiano (AKA: Chong The Nomad) had the chance to open for local legends Death Cab For Cutie and Odesza at their Double Major event, collaborated with Flint Eastwood, released an official Death Cab remix, turned a plane into her personal recording studio (it was so cool too), was named our September Locals Only Artist of The Month and of course was announced as our local opener at Deck The Hall Ball.

Every time I look at that resume I think “how could it possibly get any stronger?”

Well, the Chong The Nomad takeover continues today with the premier of the music video for her single “Two Colors.”

“I wrote ‘Two Colors’ a year and a half ago, and it’s still one of my favorite songs I’ve written. I wrote it while going through a big change in my personal life, and wanted the visual to represent that. Coming up with the perfect music video seemed like an impossible feat until I had a phone call with Leo Pfeifer. His vision to direct the music video for the song aligned with mine in so many ways, it felt uncanny. I’m over the moon with the final product. Excited to share it with the world!” Agustiano said about the video.

“What’s so magical to me about Chong’s music is its creation of emotion in such unexpected and beautiful ways. My guiding principal with the ‘Two Colors’ video was translating that sense to the medium of film. We shot on vintage Russian lenses from the 70’s, built a 300 square foot “void” out of translucent material, and danced in a junkyard only accessible via long drives and dirt roads – all to capture the wonder I felt on my first listen of the song” -Director Leo Pfeifer on making this video.
