This was a very good week for new music and the Locals Only crowd delivered in a big way. Throughout the year I try to keep a running list of all my favorite local releases that year and 2018 is seeing my longest list yet. I can’t even imagine trying to rank these things.

Paris AlexaFlexa
On Flexa, Paris Alexa is talking about things that would feel like big dreams to the rest of us. For her though, at this level of excellence, these things feel like very reasonable expectations.

“Ima buy a mansion for my momma when I finally make it,
take all my vacations to Bahamas,
always celebratin'.”

Just give her a minute. This is going to happen.

Snuff ReduxDenim American
Snuff Redux came by Locals Only on Sunday to premiere some tracks from their new album Denim American. It was clear right away they had some good stuff on their hands. They gave me a copy of the album to take home and the more I have lived with it this week the more I love it.

AbrahamEmpty Strollers
As promised, Abraham is back with their 6/6 release of the Empty Strollers EP. Back on 3/3 (my birthday, btw), the band released their Half A Three Piece Suit EP and on 9/9 we are going to get one more EP from them. So far the band hasn’t let us down and I’m just as excited for the next release in September as I am to listen to this one three or four more times today.

Kilcid Band
This week I got my first introduction to Port Townsend natives Kilcid Band. Thanks to Riot Act Media for the education. While the Good Get Gone EP isn’t out till next month, I am instantly obsessed with this band and can’t stop listening to the title track. Come for the infectious pop tune, stay for the high-level hula hoop jousting.
