Just a couple of weeks ago the 2018 Deck The Hall Ball lineup was announced. From the top of the bill to the bottom of the bill it's fantastic. While you obviously know our headliner Death Cab For Cutie, and you are likely very excited for Young The GiantBilly Eilish, and Bastille, do you know everything you should about Locals Only artist Jenn Champion?

Depending on how much you have paid attention to the local music community over the years, you might know Champion from her work in Seattle band Carissa's Wierd. Or maybe you fell in love with the album Cool Choices released by her band S back in 2014. (We certainly played plenty of the song "Vampires" on Locals Only.) More recently, she switched her moniker from Jenn Ghetto to Jenn Champion and the rest is history that I am very excited we get to watch unfold.

Earlier this year Jenn Champion released what has become one of my favorite albums. Not just this year. Ever.

Single Rider is a beautifuly crafted album from start to finish with songs that somehow make you dance while feeling happy, sad, hopeful and uplifted. It might occasionally make you feel like you need to hold back tears only to realize that it's better if you just go with it.

Single Rider is important.

In addition to releasing a perfect album this year (did I mention it was produced by Brian Fennel of SYML?), Jenn Champion also released some very fun music videos to accompany select tracks from Single Rider. Perhaps you've noticed them sprinkled throught this post?

This Sunday (10/28) Jenn Champion will be stopping by Locals Only for a live in studio performance at 8pm and to talk about her album and Deck The Hall Ball. This is one of those things you can't miss. Tune in for the interview and performance, get your DTHB tickets, and be sure to show up early. Her set is something you'll want to see.
