Locals Only Playlist: September 30th with The Moondoggies and Mary Lambery

October 2, 2018

Kevin Murphy of The Moondoggies

Supported by Rainier Beer

We are less than a week away from celebrating R-Day with our friends over at Rainier Beer on Saturday 10/6. So naturally I needed to get someone from one of the bands playing the festival. Kevin Murphy of The Moondoggies came by and we dove into plenty of their music as well as music from The Helio Sequence and Smokey Brights, who will also be playing R-Day this Saturday.

The last time Kevin was on Locals Only he talked about a band called The Lights who were big around Seattle in the early 2000s. We made sure to play more stuff from The Lights this week as well as Dead Bars and Damien Jurado.

In the second hour of the show Mary Lambert came by. We talked how she got started, how fast everything happened after "Same Love", and what she has coming up. For starters, her new book of poetry is out October 23rd. It can be preordered now. Also, Mary has been working on a new album that she says may be out as soon as February but more likely summer of 2019. Either way it is very exciting to have new music from her on the way.

Here is the rest of our playlist from Sunday night:
