SASQUATCH founder Adam Zacks launches a new THING

April 22, 2019

It's been less than a year since the announcement was made that the SASQUATCH! Music Festival would not be returning to the Gorge in 2019. After a very fun 17 year run ticket sales had begun to decline and festival founder Adam Zacks decided it was time to do something new. This week we got to know what that new THING would be.

Meet THING. The new festival from Zacks will take place August 24th and 25th at Fort Warden in Port Townsend, THING will of course feature tons of great music from bands like Violent Femmes, De La Soul, Japanese Breakfast, Phosphorescent, Parquet Courts, Kurt Vile & Violators and Jeff Tweedy. Locals Only favorites The Black Tones and Black Belt Eagle Scout will be there as well.

THING is so much more though than just music though. There will be comedy, dance, podcasts (Macaulay Culkin has a podcast and will be there) and more. The "more" includes a screening of Napoleon Dynamite and a conversation with Jon Heder and other members of the cast. Yes, Uncle Rico will be in the house.

Tickets for THING go on sale this Friday, April 26th at 9am. Here's a playlist to enjoy while while we all wait for August:
