Switchfoot in Seattle 11.15.13

November 16, 2013

Switchfoot stopped by the station Friday afternoon to perform a phenomenal EndSession for a lucky handful of fans.  Later that evening they performed in front of a VERY sold out show at the Moore Theater.  I can't think of a time I've seen more people crammed into there.  On my way out people were shouting at me from their car windows asking if I had an extra ticket almost desperate to get inside to catch the rest of the show.  I now know why.  These guys are clearly passionate about what they do and it comes across on stage.

They started the night playing their surf documentary 'Fading West'. I didn't make it in time to see the show but fans I spoke to said it was "amazing!"  Not many surfers in our neck of the woods but the band managed to hit some waves on the way up and surfed at the beautiful Agate Beach in Oregon.  The soundtrack to the movie will be released as their next album.  The album is set to be released on January 14, 2014 and the movie will be released on DVD/Blu-ray in December 2013/January 2014.

Here are some photos from both the EndSession and their concert at the Moore.

GregR asked some great questions.  The toughest by far was when he asked "Which one of you is the best surfer?"  To which the replied "Are you trying to break up the band?!"  Ha Ha!

Jerome Fontamillas and his new instrument purchased that day in Seattle and used for the first time during the EndSession.

Concerts don't get much more intimate than this!

This moment to me really showed the unity of this band.  I loved it when they huddled up and shared the mic.
