Dave Grohl checks in on a "Grohlathon"

August 18, 2020

The pandemic has given us a lot of free time... and we spend a lot of it online!   Dave Grohl superfan Pat Finnerty has spent the past several months on Instagram Live re-creating songs on the fly.  Accompanied by a Dave Grohl cardboard cutout, he plays all the instruments while fans look on and comment.

This past weekend, he upped his game with a "Grohlathon"! The goal was to get Dave Grohl to sing Sting's line from Dire Staits' "Money For Nothing" (I want my MTV).  NINE HOURS into his live stream, Pat received a join request from actor Andrew Sikking.

Thanks to everyone on Team Grohlathon for pitching in and especially @cestclairemusic for screenshotting this after my phone died. WE GOT GROHL

Dave was having a dinner party and felt he had to reach out to Pat.

We got Grohl. Thanks Grohl.

My take away after all this... besides reaffirming Dave Grohl is the nicest guy in rock, we have the same wine glasses.
