Devastating Fire Destroys Record Plant

February 7, 2020

Oh man!! Yesterday, a fire destroyed Apollo Masters, one of two manufacturing plants in the world that makes lacquers for vinyl records. With vinyl booming these days, the two plants had a hard enough time keeping up with demand. Now the load is completely on a plant called MDC in Japan. Those in the buisiness admit that there will likely be a lacquer shortage and production of vinyl will have to scale back worldwide! Yikes!!

Hopefully it doesn't effect this year's Record Store Day coming up on April 18th! Still waiting for a list of what we can expect this year!

Here's a little insight as to how vinyl records are made. It's quite a process!
