Listen to Matt Ballemy's new side project

April 15, 2020

It was a snowy night in Chicago last April when I squeezed into a tiny club in Wrigleyville to see Matt Bellamy (who seriously is one of the best guitarists today) and some of his friends play a set of Beatle covers at a Muse aftershow party.  They stuck to mostly old Beatles and all wore leather jackets.   Bellamy actually played base while Ilan Rubin (Nine Inch Nails drummer) played guitar and sang.  It was incredible.

Matt has done a handful of these shows but for only the second time, The Jaded Hearts Club has recorded and released a song.  Oddly enough, not a Beatles cover but rather a version of Marvin Gaye's "This Love Starved Heart of Mine".  It follows up the release of an Isley Brothers song in March.

The band on the recording features: Matt Bellamy (Muse), Nick Cester (Jet), Graham Coxen (Blur), Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets) and Sean Payne and Jamie Davis (The Zutons).
