Some Ambient and Chillout for recharging between parties this weekend

Most DJs want to keep their favorite tracks secret so nobody else plays them. I think that's ridiculous. Check back weekly to hear three of my favorite new tracks you might find in the mix on Subtronic End, Saturday nights 10p - 1a.

Memorial Day weekend marks the official start of BBQ season, which I say marks the official start of Summer. Festival season is underway and holiday weekends mean big parties. Most folks over look that chilling is an integral part of a party weekend. It may be that your ears need a rest from the 110dB festival onslaught, or you need a bit of quiet before the storm. Here is some essential ambient and chill out listening for your party hard weekend.

1. DJ Sun - ‘Qingxi’ - SOULAR PRODUCTIONS

DJ Sun recently went on an ancestral quest to China, resulting in this soundtrack. Listen to the entire album on Youtube.

2. David Morley - ‘The Origin Of Storms’ - DE:TUNED

David Morley has been making exceptional music since I discovered Electronica. His latest ambient adventure is no exception and I especially like that it’s a vinyl 12inch + 10inch release. His studio wizardry and affection for analog synths is alive and well.

3. UNA - ‘Heal Him Now’ (Charles Webster Remix) - COOL JEWEL RECORDS

Gorgeous. haunting. I’ve been meaning to work this into a Subtronic set but the timing is in three, not exactly conducive to a DJ set where everything is in four. I’ll get around to it.

Listen to Subtronic End Saturday nights from 10pm - 1am
