I Like Music. You Like Music- My Top 5 MUSE Tracks

October 19, 2015

Muse is coming to town on December 12th, and since we are giving away tickets this week along with a chance to see them in LA, I figured I'd give you a rundown of my favorite Muse tracks.  I've been lucky enough to see them every time they've gone on tour in America and I'm telling you right now, they are the best live band in the business today, maybe ever!

Maybe its the driving bassline. Maybe its the vulnerability in the lyrics. Maybe its because they filmed this on a big ass boat. Whatever the reason, Starlight has been one of my favorite Muse songs from the second I heard it.

I've got to do some pretty amazing things in my career, but nothing will probably ever top the time I got flown out to LA to meet Muse in their recording studio and help them pick the singles off their upcoming album.  That album happened to be The 2nd Law, and the song I chose was Madness.  I can't listen to this song without being taken back to that day. THE COOLEST!

There's an "OH S*&T" moment when a band goes from being good to "This is my JAM!!!" and for me, it was the first time I heard this song.  I love when a song kicks you right in the face with awesome.

Of course its Plug in Baby!  It would be sacrlilage for any self respecting Muse fan to make a best of list and not include this song.  Besides being absolutely amazing sonically, to me its also the moment when they "figured it out" and found the sound they would become famous for over the next decade.

Honorable Mention: Knights of Cydonia, Newborn, Muscle Memory, Butterflies and Hurricanes,  Map of the Problematique, Panic Station
