Songs I NEED To Hear At #DTHB

I like music, you like music. I especially like music from all of our friends playing Deck The Hall Ball tomorrow.  This year's show promises to be spectacular. From Grammy nominated Alabama Shakes to local legends Death Cab for Cutie, there's a little something for everyone!  I personally can't decide what band I'm most excited to see, but there are some songs I am REALLY looking forward to hearing. 10 to be exact.

Alabama Shakes - Hold On - I mean, this is probably one of the grooviest songs released in the last 5 years right?

Nathanial Rateliff- Son of a Bitch - If the Soggy Bottom Boys had a music  baby with the Blues Brothers, it would sound like this.  Dig.

Cage the Elephant - Aberdeen - Cage is going to be playing a bunch of new music off their upcoming album, which is going to be exciting, but Aberdeen is my fav Cage the Elephant track ever.  Probably because it reminds me a ton of the Pixies. Plus it will be fun to see 13,000 of you yelling "Aberdeeeeeeeen!"

X Ambassadors- Unconsolable - I don't want to be the dude that's like "I knew them back in 2013.." but I did, and this is still my fav X Ambassadors tune.  This is a relatively new band, I strongly encourage you to dig in to their back catalogue. Lots of good stuff in there.

Walk the Moon- Avalanche - Talking is Hard is a great album, and once you're sick of listening to Shut Up and Dance With Me (281 MILLION Spotify listens!!!!!) you should give this one a try.

Death Cab for Cutie - You are a Tourist - Nick's strut during the beginning of this video. Classic. I chose this song because of that, and also because this song has my favorite Death Cab guitar riff ever.

21 Pilots- Guns for Hands - Such a powerful chorus.  Especially now. If you look closely at the side of the stage during this song, I guarantee you will see me losing my mind to it. Please take a photo and tag me.

Walk the Moon- Anna Sun - So when this song came out, I was on bed rest recovering from a back surgery.  It was the worst.  I think the only thing that kept me sane was when I discovered Anna Sun and then proceeded to play it about 17,000x over the next few weeks. Cheesy for sure, but everytime I hear this song I'm always reminded of getting through that ordeal and how a little determination goes a long way.

Death Cab for Cutie- I Will Follow You Into the Dark - If you've never been to a Death Cab show and heard a full house of fans singing along with Ben Gibbard during this song, get read. Goosebump inducing for sure.

21 Pilots- Ride - White suburban kids doing reggae inspired songs usually makes my stomach turn, but not this time. My favorite song of Blurryface and the song I'm most excited to hear at Deck the Hall Ball.

Hope to see you there!
