New Music Discovery: Shellac 'Dude Incredible'

September 15, 2014
I like to think of it as music for grumpy dudes - Curmudgeon Core perhaps - my favorite 'old guys being angry in their 40's' band, Shellac, dropped on us their first new album since 2007's 'Excellent Italian Greyhound'. Boy did they take their time to write 8 songs that clock in at a bold 32 minutes, but that's what makes this so awesome!

Helmed by a couple recording engineers, including the famed Steve Albini (In Utero), you know you're watching dudes who are both nerds and don't give a f***. They take breaks and indulge the crowd with a little Q&A, but be careful, they'll bite back if you're a butthead.

Today marks the release of Dude Incredible. The band is quick to point out "there is no comma in ‘Dude Incredible’; like Sir Duke or King Friday, for example". I love them.

Still with me? If so, you're awesome. Good day.

PS At Action Park is their coolest record, proof:
