5 Things That Didn't Suck at The MTV VMAs

August 30, 2015

For the most part, no one really cares about the MTV Video Music Awards anymore. I think people started losing interest when the network stopped playing actual music videos and replaced them with reality shows. But hey, it's still entertaining! The VMAs are always a spectacle of what people are wearing, who they're dating or fighting with, and on very rare occasions - music! By now you've probably heard all about Nick Minaj calling out Miley Cyrus and Kanye West running for president and Taylor Swift winning all the awards, but here's what was actually worth watching at this year's MTV VMAs...

1. Vance Joy was nominated for Artist To Watch! He lost to Fetty Wap, but he made it to the final 2 and the award was voted on by fans. That's huge. He also looked like a total rock star on the red carpet. They grow up so fast!

2. FKA Twigs was easily the best dressed of the night. Girl is stunning. And insanely talented. If you don't listen to her yet, you should start now. She's a true artist. I could gush about her forever.

3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performed "Downtown" live for the first time and recreated their Spokane based music video on the streets of LA. The crowd loved it. And it's always awesome to see a Seattle artist at the VMAs!

4. Twenty One Pilots also took the stage last night for a crazy performance with A$AP Rocky. They played a mash up of tracks off their Blurryface record and probably made a million more diedhard fans. They're blowing up!

5. Walk The Moon showed up in some of the coolest suits I've ever seen. After having breakfast with them here at The End studios not too long ago, it's so cool to see them walking a red carpet! Looking good, dudes!
