In defense of my crush on Vance Joy...

April 15, 2015
I've had a lot of listeners joke with me about a certain artist lately. It's no secret that I am a huge fan of James Keogh AKA Vance Joy and if I'm being honest, it's a little more than that. You see, I have a crush. Ugh just typing it makes me feel gross. I do not get crushes. Especially on musicians that I have to interract with for work. It's embarrassing! I'm normally very good at my job and at conducting interviews and I don't ever get star struck, but with Vance Joy... I always say something stupid that I regret and I probably make him super uncomfortable. I'm sorry, okay? I can't help it.

For further proof of how ridiculous I am when it comes to Vance Joy, please listen to this interview from Deck The Hall Ball where I giggle every 10 seconds and mess up what I'm trying to say several times.

Oh, and I don't just have a crush on him for his looks by the way... he is one of the sweetest, funniest, nicest dudes I have ever met. He just so happens to also be very tall, have great hair, and an accent that I'm pretty sure all Americans find charming. He also put out one of the best albums of 2014 and is insanely talented. What I'm trying to say is - he's the total package and he's already well on his way to being a huge star.

So while I may have a little crush on a famous musician, at least I picked a good one. I hung out with this guy in a treehouse while he was recording his album - c'mon, I never stood a chance. In fact I've met him 4 times now... I even made a collage of all the photos we've taken together. I've basically reduced myself to a 12 year old fan girl. Once again: gross.

Okay, I feel better now that I've gotten all of that off my chest and I think I can finally stop talking about it... at least until August when Vance Joy comes back to Seattle and this inevitably starts all over again. Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble.

PSS - Buy "Dream Your Life Away" on iTunes and make sure you listen to "First Time" - it's my favorite song on the record!

PSSS - If anyone ever shows this blog post to him, I will kill you.
