End Recommends: The Depressed Cake Shop

September 17, 2015

If you aren't familiar with The Depressed Cake Shop, it's basically an annual pop up that involves baking/buying/eating desserts for a good cause. Here's some backstory: "One in four people will suffer from, or be touched by, a mental health issue at some point in their lives. The Depressed Cake Shop is a unique (and delicious) platform designed to raise awareness of these challenges. We provide a safe place for conversation and a unique toolkit that will enable interested bakers and organizers to raise funds for mental health charities through locally organized pop-ups." So awesome, right?

It's coming to Seattle on October 10th which just so happens to be smack dab in the middle of Mental Illness Awareness Week! The sad desserts will benefit NAMI Greater Seattle which is the National Alliance on Mental Illness for Greater Seattle.

Yeah, I definitely think grey macarons may be my new favorite treat. Seriously... how cool is the color grey for desserts? I want all of my future birthday cakes to be grey!
